WCA League & Cup News

WCA News Victory Shield: Thats right folks. A brand spanking new competition sponsored by the WCA News. With the low numbers in the WCA (although we are up to 35 now) it was decided that a new FA competition was in order. So - no prize money, no UFFA spot, simply for prestige. A Champions League Style competition starting with 8 groups with the winners progressing to the quarter finals. Good luck with it next season.

WCA Leagues: Currently looking at a Premier League of 16 and a Championship of 19 with 3 up and down for next season. The promotions from the Championship may increase depending on the number of WCA members next season.

Transfer News

Championship Major Transfers: In the Championship only Bushby Babes have been active signing Kakha Kaladze (250k) and Fernando Ance (450k) as they look to gain promotion back to the Premiership.

Premiership Major Transfers: Band of Brothers have been active with Yossi Benayoun leaving for 350k and Davis Curiale joining in a wage auction for a fee of 250k. Scottish fullback Mark Wilson was also signed for 200k in a transfer auction. Euclydian Dynamo spent 525k on Charles Kaboe and a further 220k on Rafael Dida. Last years runners up Matosinhos SC have yet to strengthen their squad but have let Rene Mihelic leave for a fee of 600k.

So that's it. Will anyone challenge LetsTalkAboutCesc? With 5 new members in the WCA will we see a first timer gain promotion to the Premiership?

Here's to another great season.

Pettigrew joins the cloughite

Garry Pettigrew, editor of the WCA News has today joined the Cloughite's staff and will be bringing the latest news from the Weekend Casual Association direct to the Cloughite from now on.

The Cloughite is always looking to recruit new writers -- if you're involved in an association specific newspaper and would like to become an editor at the Cloughite please get in touch, with your help we can make the Cloughite even stronger; something that all UFFA members can be proud of.

About Us

The Clough Gameworld crest

The Cloughite is Clough's very own Tabloid Newspaper, reporting on a wide range of stories from the hot discussion topics of the day to the big transfer stories and even match reports from the big games.

Stories will be sensationalized, so just as with the real world tabloids don't take it too seriously. Thanks to all the managers out there that are playing along, any quotes you read in these articles are direct from the managers themselves.
